Books about Science Gone Wrong!

Recently I read Upgrade by Blake Crouch. I loved it! I don’t want to give away too much, but it’s an action packed, scientists act like gods, and then things go wrong kind of story. Definitely a page turner.

It got me to thinking about other books that I love that are about gene editing and what could happen in a world changed through science. Here are some I recommend (these are not in any particular order):

  1. Upgrade by Blake Crouch
  2. Red Rising by Pierce Brown
  3. Jurassic Park by Micheal Crichton
  4. Next by Micheal Crichton
  5. Watchers by Dean Koontz
  6. Germ by Robert Liparulo
  7. Behind Blye Eyes by Anna Mocikat
  8. Zoo by James Patterson
  9. This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada
  10. The Cartoon Guide to Genetics
    • This one is not a novel. I find it to be a really good resource to understanding genetics in a fun away that most people will be able to grasp.
Stack of books

These books are not only about gene editing, but they stick out to me from other books I’ve read about altering our world through genetics. Some are about the effects on people, some about viruses, and some are about genetically modified animals.

If you are looking for a page turning, mad scientist ride of a book, any of these will do the trick.

Happy reading and writing today and every day!
