Okay, so this a very random post for me. If you visit my site, I usually write about writing, reading, and books. (Which is mostly the same thing.)
But I was recently thinking about the things this year that I’ve bought that weren’t NEEDS but have greatly improved my day to day.
- Porch Swing
- I use this every day that it’s not 1000 degrees out. I love it. I sit and read or sit with my husband and talk.
- Adjustable Desk
- This is amazing. It can go short enough to be used for a child or so tall that it is up under my arm pits.
- It turns out my other desk was too short for how I like to sit. I keep this new one mostly on the middle setting.
- Cat Condo
- This is meant to be on a porch so your indoor cats can be outside but not free range. We use it for our hairless cat.
- She doesn’t like to do much but sit in her blanket and be left alone, so we put her stuff in it. It’s open. She can leave, but doesn’t very much. She’s silly.
- She is still inside. We put it in the spare room with the other cat stuff like our three litter boxes. We have two cats (vets recommend the number of cats you have plus one for boxes, fyi).
- She loves it. Our other cat seems less annoyed with her, and she is still free range inside. It solved a lot of the “territory” conflicts we were having.

If you’re wondering, I got these all on amazon, so I had to assemble them, but totally worth it.
Anyway, happy reading and writing today and every day!
