October 2025 Short Story Prompt

Well, don’t mind me over here having a mild panic attack!

My computer died today out of the blue. Luckily my brother-in-law is a tech guy. He talked me through it and off a ledge. He thinks my motherboard is failing. Granted its a five year old laptop, but still….

The universe is not operating in my favor right now. On top of that, several things have broke in my household in the last month, and it’s just a lot to deal with right now. I need a minute to catch my breath.

Anyway, I’m trying to focus on it not being the end of the world. (Maybe if I say it enough times I’ll start to believe it.)

So, this month’s short story prompt is originally from October 2021. Here is the original post and story created from it.

The prompt is:

“The moon broke through the clouds, and the four of them stood there, frozen, waiting for something to happen. They were in the middle of an open field, and it was as if a spotlight had been trained on them. Suddenly, without warning…”

Whatever you’re working on right now, hope it’s going well. Happy reading and writing today and every day!
