It’s been another great month of reading. Since my last mini reviews, I have read 6 more books. Here’s what I thought (in brief):

- Last Argument of Kings by Joe Abercrombie
- This is the third book in this trilogy (so the end). This book has the same energy as the other two — lots of fighting, lots of story lines, and lots of morally grey characters. In this part, it all comes together into one epic battle. I loved it! Great ending! Also, this guy writes the best morally grey characters I’ve ever read.
- Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
- This is something I’ve seen every movie version of but never read the book version. I think the movies actually do it justice. It’s a classic for a reason. Enjoyable.
- Wayward by Black Crouch
- This is the second book in this trilogy. It’s getting creepier in the town. Very dystopic. Very tense. I recommend this if you like dystopic societies that are super controlling and the individuals trying to fight back.
- Toad by Katherine Dunn
- Okay, let me start by saying that Geek Love (by the same author as this) is one of my absolute favorite books of all time. So, this book needed to wow me. I have mixed feelings. It didn’t wow me like Geek Love, but I think it’s worth reading. To me, it seemed like an intense character study. The main character is crazy but doesn’t see herself that way. It’s interesting.
- Darkwing Duck Vol. 1: FOWL Play by Amanda Deibert
- Okay, so this is a collection of somewhat recent Darkwing Duck comics. It was wonderful. Darkwing is one of my favorite tv shows from my childhood, so I picked this up. I loved it!
- Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab
- I haven’t read a vampire story in a while, and I admit, I do like them. This one was really good. I enjoyed the different timelines eventually all coming together. Also, I loved the ending. I don’t want to give it away. Read it!
Whatever you’re working on, hope it’s going well! Happy reading and writing today and every day!
