Read So Far…

What is everyone reading right now? Anything you’re really excited about? I’m almost half way to my reading goal for the year!

Here is what I’ve read so far this year, plus some small comments/highlights:

  1. Good Vibes, Good Life by Vex King
  2. Alex and Me by Irene M. Pepperberg
  3. Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Three Stories by Truman Capote
  4. The Wild Robot by Peter Brown
  5. The Burning House by Ann Beattie
  6. Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
  7. The Curator by Owen King
    • I loved this book. I don’t know what genre to call it exactly, which means it’s a part of my favorite genre — the weird tale! This strange and complex story is one of my top reads so far this year.
  8. Silver Under Nightfall by Rin Chupeco
  9. Wayside School Beneath the Cloud of Dooms by Louis Sachar
  10. Kill the Farm Boy by Delilah S. Dawson
  11. Upgrade by Blake Crouch
  12. Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi
  13. The Color of Revenge by Cornelia Funke
  14. Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom by Cory Doctorow
  15. A Tempest of Tea by Hafsah Faizal
  16. James by Percival Everett
    • This book is great. It retells Mark Twain’s characters from Jim’s perspective. Read it!
  17. Divided Allegiance by Elizabeth Moon
  18. Starling House by Alix E. Harrow
  19. House of Frank by Kay Sinclaire
    • This is a cozy, heart warming story about grief. I cannot express how much I loved this book.
  20. A Second Chance by Jodi Taylor
  21. Night of Demons and Saints by Menna Van Praag
  22. The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
    • There is a reason so many books, movies, and shows are based on this. This is classic master horror story telling by one of the best. I loved it.
  23. Mr. Monster by Dan Wells
  24. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
    • I admit it, I didn’t want to like this, but I read it because I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Romance is not something I read often. And in the end, I liked it. I’m going to read the second as well.
  25. A Venom Dark and Sweet by Judy Lin

Overall, I haven’t read a book I didn’t like this year. It’s been a great year, looking forward to the rest!

Happy reading and writing today and everyday!

  1. 25 books! Well that’s my target by the end of June, but I’m running way behind, 18 done so far. Any quick, absolute entertainers you’ll suggest out these? Genre no bar… thanks.
