Why am I behind this month? Honestly, I don’t know. I’ve had time to get every thing done. I was a little distracted by a video game, but it only lasted a few days.

I have worked on my book, but my blog has been left to accumulate dust. So, if you are here for this month’s short story prompt, here it is:
Every thousand years, the fabled Cloudbeast descends from the sky and selects a new ruler. This time, it’s a year early, bearing a grim omen.
